The House That Labour Built

Before the election I offer you this stunning visual of artistic depth and clairvoyantic brillance. (is clarvoyantic even a real word? o_O)

Okay apparently our adapter thing works again.

Maybe they didn't bite as much as I thought.
Here's a David and Goliath story for you.

You know how we have a wireless network at home, yes?

You know how it's good, yes?

You know how it's slowly been deteriorating, yes?

Well...it appears that ants made a home inside (yes, inside) our wireless access point...and ate the inside to bits -_- And apparently there were ant eggs too. ;_; So those bastard ants killed our wireless network.

Richard says to me "no more food at this table". He forgets that I'm not the only one at this table, and I don't leave my food slovenly and sloppily lying around o_O or maybe I do. Damn ants.

I had fun with no-ant spray today. They were climbing up the skirting as well. I sprayed them, they died. Take that, bitches. Teach you to destroy our mobility.

Election.

It would be much easier if we just voted for colours.

Your options are:

Black
Yellow
Green
Blue
Red
Purple

Please tick your favourite colour.

The actor for Seth Cohen doesn't actually like boats.

I don't think any of them are actually teenagers.

...

oh well
I watched the TV1 final leader's debate. Still dunno who to vote for o_O Maybe I shouldn't vote.

Hmm.

And then after that I kept watching TV and stumbled upon this show called Everwood. I dunno. I couldn't stop watching dunno why -_- (probably cause I'm really lazy) but there was a very nice quote in closing from what I guess is the main character, he (Ephram) says:

"The more things change, the more they stay the same. I'm not sure who the first person was who said that. Probably Shakespeare. Or maybe Sting. But at the moment, it's the sentence that best explains my tragic flaw: my inability to change. I don't think I'm alone in this. The more I get to know other people, the more I realize it's kind of everyone's flaw. Staying exactly the same for as long as possible, standing perfectly still... It feels safer somehow. And if you are suffering, at least the pain is familiar. Because if you took that leap of faith, went outside the box, did something unexpected... Who knows what other pain might be out there, waiting for you. Chances are it could be even worse.

So you maintain the status quo. Choose the road already traveled and it doesn't seem that bad. Not as far as flaws go. You're not a drug addict. You're not killing anyone... Except maybe yourself a little.

When we finally do change, I don't think it happens like an earthquake or an explosion, where all of a sudden we're like this different person. I think it's smaller than that. The kind of thing most people wouldn't even notice unless they looked at us really close. Which, thank God, they never do.

But you notice it. Inside you that change feels like a world of difference. And you hope this is it. This is the person you get to be forever... that you'll never have to change again."

I thought it made sense. >.>

I don't like TV series in general because they force you to watch it over a long period of time. Like anime. I like having it all on one (or multiple) discs so you can watch it all, mwahahha, instead of having to wait a week between screenings. It's just not as cool.

I've seen 1-12 of the O.C. and it's great.

o_O Why? I dunno. It's just fast paced and a lot happens.

And as Dennis puts it nicely, there's the beautiful people =P

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Despite my initial misgivings, man, this movie is solid gold (not the radio station) Johnny depp was MUCH better than I had ever expected for him in this role - he isn't really paedophilic, just...quirky. There's lots of levels to him and a whole lot of subtlety...(did I sepll that right >.>) it's great, Freddie Highmore does well, some of the actors look vaguely familiar (like his mum/mom)...the music's great, the visuals are stunning and Tim Burton proves again he's still got the touch. It's fantastical but not to the point where it's unbelieveable. It's like how life might look if you viewed it through a memory.

Willy Wonka gets a lot more backstory to him too. You can't really compare this to the original, they kinda do different takes on the thing.

It's great.

The O.C

This is better than I thought it would be. considering I didn't stop watching after the first 10 minutes of the pilot...so yeah.

There is not quite much that's worse than being sick on the eve of your birthday.

You know that "hey, I'm mildly burning all over, my eyes feel like they're giving birth to quintuplets (really really heavy ones), and a blocked nose which somehow manages to unblock for itself to run but not for you to breathe properly..." yeah that feeling.

;_; It'd better not be here tomorrow. Or...I'll write it a letter telling it how angry I am.

Anyway. yeah. *sniff*

richard ran away with the ps2 today again. >.> its like he doesnt trust me to not touch it anymore (Even though well it technically isnt his.) i dunno. im not angry im just...disappointed.

---

hmm. what else is there to say? i ain't really been doing that much

---

happy birthday to Julia for yesterday happy birthday Sonny's mum =)

Or is that mom? Crazy Amerikan spellingz.

Yesterday went to Rikky's to watch the rugby. That try with Ali Williams and Doug..Hewlett? was gold. Pure, 99 carat gold. Purity. Especially on tv. the camera kind of panned and you're like wtf why did he kick that and then it gets to Doug and he catches it and BAM great play.

---

Killinchy gold cookies and cream ice-cream is very nice

--

I do like that picture of the bassist/guitarist in the school-uniformish thing and angel wings.

i do like school uniforms for some reason. well not all actually. only the ones with white business shirts. im not entirely sure why.

---

is that really pertinent to anything?

---

hmm

---

When I turn 18 tomorrow I get to:

Vote
Prostitute
Smoke
Drink (the alcoholic kind, it'd be kind of mean to make someone thirsty for the first 18 years of their life)

hmm what else is there

im sure theres other stuff

all waiting to be discovered magically

---

i bet its a lie. a large, fat, commercial lie, designed to get you to spend more on thato ne day. nothing truly really happens. you dont suddenly grow wings, or a bubble doesnt pop over you head that just screams "LEVEL UP DOOOD" you dont wake up with an epiphany...

instead...you hold a gathering perhaps, meet with friends...

i'm looking forward to tomorrow :)

---

and actually, i would very much like a pair of usable wings.

Hello.

What has been happening?

1. I have been stealing broadband internet from Dennis and Sonny, respectively. I feel dirty and thievish (is that a word) but >.>

2. Filming for a dennis short film. It's really bizzare. We were shooting at his mum's vacant want-to-sell house and these random Indian buyers came along.

3. Played DoTA today. I really suck at it -_-

4. i...i dunno

5. abritary number

Dear Dennis.

I am sorry for my brazen spoiler upon the death of what seems to be one of your favourite characters. It was foolish of me to assume that just because a million people had spoiled it for me that someone had already spoiled it for you. I would just like to try to convince you that the books are still worth reading. I am most sorry.

MATHS 108 TEST RRRRRR

la porchetta mmm

Sunday, August 21, 2005

Oh yeah I got 100% in assignment 2 for compsci XD
My sister nicely remembered that I hadn't read any of the Harry Potter books past the second one (which is why I don't care that Dumbledore dies or whatever. Oops.) so she nicely brought over the third and fourth (?) books. I am about halfway through the third book. It is very good.

Harry Potter's a bit old now, eh? It's riveting. "as long as Harry didn't leave spots of ink on the sheets at night nobody would know what he was up to" >.>

Yeah.

But anyway I was reading that and then I forgot that this morning I was supposed to go to have breakfast at McDonalds its good yes BLT bagel even though the mayo is like 90% fat or whatever it's nice and they had sunday star times and raybon kan's back page is brilliant as usual.

I was going to type it out but it's illegal/I can't be bothered.

Then at 10am we went to the Howick Historical Village while they had a live day (the last time I went was part of like a primary school excursion or something and it wasn't terribly interesting) but yeah the live day was pretty good. Tons of arts and crafts and stuff. And I also had a stuffed kumara for lunch. Double awesome. Only thing is linda's cousins were a bit pushy today i dunno why, weren't letting old people through first at doorways, talking loudly, not saying excuse me and politely waiting their turn on craft help/explanation etc but....oh well.

Maybe its just me o_O

Yeah and then somehow I got fooled into picking donuts to be given to our family (I thought it was for the kidzzzz) and we got 18 donuts. ....

And then yeah Dennis and Kathy came over and we tried William's Douglas Lilburn entry, its fun(ish) yeah

Dennis and Kathy had some donuts

And then john texted

oh yeah did i mention i have a new phone its cool yeah my message tone is quite cool if i do say so myself.

and then so that means this morning 8-3pm was with lindas cousins, then 3-4 was with liek quartet and then now john texted and 5-6.30 is gonna be try come up with a song time and then 7pm is dinner with family and then whenever that finishes i should really start completing my compositions

yea

There was that riveting enough for you sonny? He's been berating me about short concise succinct posts lately. There just hadn't been as much happening as had today. I think something is grammatically wrong with the previous sentence. Meh.

Saturday, August 20, 2005

Hi! Kim and my dad are here in New Zealand! Yay!

Um, they missed their flight on Friday night because my dad overslept while watching Bicentennial Man.

-_-

OH I GOT A NEW PHONE ITS NICE 6670 very niez

1. I forgot to backup the photos from when after William left when I was still in Taiwan.

-_-

-____--

im gonna miss those photos so much. I think now they only exist in Taiwan ;_; I'm gonna have to get my mum to get them back for me or something.

2. ;_; im still sad

3. FFXI OST is great. The opening theme, such majesty. I dont know why but the opening movie was turned off so i turned it on and watched the movie and listened to the nice music. It's nice.
