HOLY. MACKEREL.
TODAY WAS SUCH AN AESOMEDAY OMGOMG
Okay basically we went to the Leofoo Village/Six Lucky Village/An Amusement Park. Think Rainbows end...but WAY better. I'll try to do a chronological thingy but I'll probably forget some stuff but anyway here we go:
Took a bus from near our apartment, this was easy enough...got on a busride there...the bus was packed and there was this one guy on the bus who kept talking, except that he sounded really sad and whiny and he kept dropping. Yeah. We ate some bread on the bus (yes, just plain bread but for some reason Taiwan's bread tastes really nice!) Anyway, we got there and went to the customer service centre to pick up our special price tickets because the policewoman auntyfriend we know has contacts...so we got in for 530 instead of 790 (in NZ that's roughly 21.50 compared to 34.50)
Okay. Basically the Six Village Theme Park is divided into four sections (the last two are still under construction, China Town and Europe World. We walked in and the first area we entered was:
Arabian Kingdom
This was very largely a Disney's Aladdin rip-off. It was actually quite funny seeing pseudo-Jasmines trapped in cages and flesh coloured "genies" try to save her. Ahem. But that isn't a bad thing. Just that I'm surprised they haven't gotten their ass sued yet..for that, and the show which I'll talk about in a bit. Originally the first thing we was gonna ride was the Ring of Fire, which is one of the "popular attractions" but due to the fact it had just recently rained, it was closed off. So we went to the "Sultan's Adventure" which is kinda reminiscent of the Gold Rush in rainbows end only WAY cooler, cause the carts for some reason manage to move on the spot. It's crazy. \o/ It was awesome...William took some photos but it was too dark for it to be really any good probably.
So that was the Sultan's Adventure. Very cool. There was a long line at the start cause most of the other rides were closed due to the rain, but then when we came back for a second run later on in the day near the time we left, it was just us two and we pretty much walked straight through onto the cart. The first time there was this random lady taking around little kids...she talked to us. Dunno. Though that might interest somebody.
Next was the "Dynamic Motion Theatre" (read - Motionmaster) which needed 3d glasses. These glasses were pretty funky, if uncomfortable...they weren't coloured red and blue or anything...they just...worked. I don't know how they did but they did, and it was kinda cool. The motion itself was kinda lame though, this is one of the few things which Rainbows End does better than this park. And the stupid attendants forced me and William to sit at the very end cause they couldn't be stuffed operating one half of the theatre so we had to sit at the very edge which sucked.
After that we went to the "Flying Carpet" - this is basically a platform kinda thing that rotates...and it goes up really high and falls down. *kind of* like a pirate ship but not as nauseating..it was not too bad. I was kinda hoping for it to actually do a loop but it never did, it just stopped at the top of the circle and did half circles.
Then, the "Flying Horse" ride. -_- It wasn't that special. Just horse car things, quite a bit up, moving really slowly. This one was geared for the kiddies I suspect...and the guy who was telling people "Welcome" didn't seem very happy (then again I wouldn't be too enthused if my job consisted of saying "hi" and telling peopel to put their safety belts on and press a green button.
When we exited the Flying Horse, we noticed that the Ring of Fire was now open. :D Okay. What is the "Ring of Fire", you ask? Basically, imagine a closed circle, and a car-thing...and basically, you're restrained into the car pretty well because this car goes in a full circle, so at many points in the ride (which doesn't actually go very far cause it's just a circle but CRAP it was fun) you're pretty much falling, with just that restraint between you and a whole lot of metal...but yeah it was AWESOME basically it goes and forces you to sit upside down and sideways and...gar it was AWESOME. Totally totally awesome.
That was about it for Arabian Kingdom. We did come back to pick up a photo but more on that later.
Next: Wild West (part one)
This was a pretty cool area as well. The first ride we did was the Big Canyon Rapids Ride...basically a river rapids. It wasn't as dangerous as I thought it would be but it was still pretty cool anyways. I got really wet -_- somehow all the water managed to splash exactly where I was sitting and never where William was. ^^"
We were gonna go into the "devils mine" but that was closed off for the day for some reason...I wonder what it would have been...but instead we went to the Little Rattler. On the map this ride looked really lame, like a slow stupid kiddy train ride but...in real life, it was actually a lot of twisted metal forming a really really awesome roller coaster. It goes REALLY fast and twists and turns and banks a heck of a lot so there's a lot of centripetal force on you, or something ^^ you can feel it. It's AWESOME. We rode this a second time later in the day cause it was that awesome.
Now, each area has its kind of "main attraction", for the adrenaline junkies - the Arabian Kingdom one was the Ring of Fire, and the one here was the "Screaming Condor" . I decided in the end with the slight headache I had and the fact that I was already really freaked out on the ground that this ride would not be for me...photos will be coming soon, maybe a video but basically, it's one of those "dangle" rides where you dangle off the thing. Like lethal weapon in australia. Anyway. You start in the middle, at the station, then they BOOST you at an INCREDIBLE speed so that you go up a corkscrew (yes, up), come back down through the station where they boost you AGAIN, and up onto a curve to a vertical track, then back down, another boost, further up the corkscrew cause you've been boosted, and then back up higher on the vertical track, then back down. Seriously, it goes REALLY fast. I was standing at the curve of the vertical part where you can just stand, and when the car goes past there's so much air displaced that the wind gust is kinda strong. ^^ But yeah. It's an INCREDIBLE ride even if I didn't...but WILLIAM did and I took a video + photos. \o/ He rode this some time after we visited:
South Pacific
Apart from the weird fact that they seem to think that the South Pacific contains Dinosaurs (and has a ride/attraction named The Lost World which is just looking to get sued...)...this place was pretty cool. The main attraction here is the "pagoda's revenge", which is like the fearfall only shorter. But I didn't like the look of it so I didn't ride ;_; yeah okay sure it's easy for you to say "AHHAHA I WOULD HAVE" but (finger) you weren't there. :P I DID however go on the logflume. There really isn't that much to it...basically, it's two drops apart from one another...the first drop really hurt my balls for some really bizarre reason (don't ask, I can't even begin to explain) but it was nowhere near as long and as steep as the second fall. Seriously - the second drop is at like a 80 degree slope ;_; and it's quite a way down...and they don't have seat restraints so you're sitting there going "holy crap am i gonna fall out" ;_; but it was SO much fun! There was a photo taker thingy on the ride and me and William decided the photo was so funny to purchase it :) Yes, I look scared. It was scary. -_-
And that was about it I think...there was a dancing animal show where there were people who looked like terrorists in their all black gear and all black facemasks dancing...in animal suits...to Lion King music...but...yeah. And there was a White Tiger and a petting zoo with Boer Goats which apparently South Africans use to make their sausages, yum.
It was SUCH an awesome day. ^_^

Have you ever opened up Windows Task Manager and wondered "what the hell is LSASS.exe and what is it doing that is benefitting my computer?"
www.processlibrary.com
Oh yeah. I just checked everything running. They seem okay. There was a lot more crap on it before though, I uninstalled so much stuff. Hopefully my computer will be stabler now.
Outside we are testing the cool ASUS PC. For some bizarro reason, the CD Play function (the one that doesn't require booting into the actual computer) doesn't work but the FM tuner does. Hmm. Did you know it has a 6 in one card reader? (memory stick, SD, etc) \o/ But it looks so cool. And it even tells the time!
Yeah. Tomorrow morning me and William leave early for the theme park. I am charging my phone I hope I don't forget it, cause that would suck. I've got 2k on me as safe money. (2k is roughly NZ 100). I must remember to remind William to bring camera. Must remember to take shower tomorrow morning.
Yes , it's 10.30 now - goodnight! (Hi Brian)

Going to an amusement park tomorrow! Will be fun. Cause I can't read Chinese. -_-
But it will be FUNNNNN i hope anyway sounds really confusing William and my aunt and uncle are planning it outside while I sit in here like a reclusive hermit trying to uninstall all uncrucial stuff in an effort to restore system stability. DAMMNIT I JUST BOUGHT THIS LAPTOP IN NOVEMEBER but I'll fix it im sure. I mean if I can't what right do i have to do computer science >.>

Hello! Today has been a good day, apart from my grandpa being angry at my aunty for some reason :( (he said some pretty rude things too which I won't discuss for all the little kiddies out there)...
Woke up. I was supposed to go to the treatment centre with my aunty for hydrotherapy for her thumb which she cut sometime before I arrived here in Taipei but I woke up too late, so she taught me how to use the toaster and quickly boosted off. Then my 2nd uncle came back from wherever he was that morning and we went off on today's adventure.
1) Seal.
Me and William were brought to some place where this guy engraved chinese seals for us (you know, seals. Well if you don't know, I'll show you in real life sometime)...it was good. We are getting seals carved into oxen/buffalo horn that's been treated to go black or something...anyway. They also sold lotto. Only at the end, later on in the supermarket when I asked, did I actually find out they were handicapped. I totally overlooked it and they seemed totally normal. There you go, you anti-handi-bastards, they're just as much people as you and me. *shakes fist* (and I asked because I remembered that only people who are disabled can sell lottery tickets. And they were selling lottery tickets)
2) Computer.
We went back to the guy who we thought gave us the best price on parts etc. Changed the specs just slightly, got a video card in there as well (instead of the on-board one) and upgraded the HDD to 120gb, a Western Digital one which is the same as my portable hard disk. We should be able to pick it up sometime later tonight...^^ He was also originally going to add in Windows XP under the table (as in, not original), but then my 2nd uncle was talking about it too loud and attracted too much attention. :( My 1st uncle can probably do it for us anyway. ^^ End price: NT$22500. Right this moment, that converts into: $997 NZ. :D :D :D :D While walking to XiMenTing (West Gate Market), we checked the quote/invoice they gave us and realised they forgot to put down the wireless lan USB thingmie into it, even though it was put down in the price. We called them from a public payphone. My 2nd uncle used his card thing. It costs about 10cents for a minute...I think that's cheaper than NZ. I think.
I also bought a webcam here. It's a pretty cool looking one! It looks like a little robot thing. I wish I could turn it on itself and take a photo of itself but that doesn't really make sense. Dunno. Can't find a mirror. (ie im lazy you'll see it one day)
3) Music.
We went on from the computer place to find some shop which my brother wanted me and William to check for music CDs. I must say. They were horribly overpriced, I thought...most of them were around $NT 1000, which converts to roughly I dunno 50 NZ (i'm not loading the currency converter again...), when you can get it shipped to your house for roughly that price...I think. Dunno. But William bought something, I saw the FFT-A White Collection but I wasn't going to pay that much for about 50mins worth of music which I wasn't even 100% was good anyway. I'm going to go to the one nearer our house to check though. Near our house is a place called Guang Hua Bridge, and basically its a shopping mall built directly under an overpass. It's kinda old and "historic" now...but the music stall I speak of it only in the vicinity. Yeah.
4) After that we came home. William is sleeping now because a) he has a headache and b) he wants to wake up at 4am tomorrow morning for an ARSENAL VS MANCHESTER UNITED (his favourite versus their ARCH NEMESIS) soccer match. Yup. Then me and my 2nd uncle went grocery shopping...Taiwan supermarkets are really cool. In New Zealand they don't really like you bringing trolleys places, obviously, because they don't let you take them up escalators etc. BUT FEAR NOT because taiwan invented a solution. There's two major kinds here, both which support trolleys 100%.
1) Wheel lock escalators.
Instead of having steps, these escalators have a sloped incline and the wheels of the trolleys they use have automatic locks that lock onto the surface of this escalator to prevent slippage of your hard-bought bread, etc. The disadvantage is that the incline can't be very steep (otherwise people can't use it too) and thus it's longer. But YOU CAN USE TORLEY!
2) Sidebar thing carry thing
I can't even describe these properly but basically theres a line of little wooden post things that latch onto your trolley somehow and bring it with you, alongside your escalator. It's weird and I can't really describe it properly BUT it works and it's uber-cool.
New Zealand really needs those too. And a train system. And things on buses that tell you what the next stop is. Damn those are so cool right now. Seriously.
Oh yeah on our way in we had to go past this stupid protester guy. I hate protesters who protest in major entrances etc. Go and protest somewhere else, the minute you start inconveniencing the common people, you start being an asshole and nobody gives a crap what assholes are protesting about.
Fini. Going to pick up PC later tonight, seals tomorrow afternooon (seals you idiot not the mammals!)

Hello. Yesterday the following people went to eat shabushabu:
Animal Scientist/Vetenarian in training, Someone who just failed two subjects, someone who just finished a set of exams, someone who just got into university, someone who just had his wisdom teeth viciously removed from its home, someone who married into my family, someone who works as a policewoman and has a black belt in judo and someone who works as a nanny on occasion.
I figure descriptions mean more than names :)
Anyway it was really nice and yum...shabu shabu for those who are not in the know is basically personal steamboat...so for example normally when you all go out for steamboat someone chucks in oysters and you're allergic to them and they dont tell you and you die from an inflamed liver or something...yeah, that's less likely to happen. ^^
It was really nice. Meat slices only take 10 seconds to cook o_O so fast. And thre was prenty of foud and drinkkk and icecream mmm peanut icecream is nice. I also put some icecream in my steamboat thing and William drank the "soup". -_- he didnt mind it. I thought it tasted liek crap.
Anyway that was the interesting thing of yesterday. Today we are probably going to go sort out the PC. \o/

I miss you more then Michael Bay missed the mark
When he made Pearl Harbor
I miss you more than that movie missed the point
And that’s an awful lot girl
And now, now you’ve gone away
And all I’m trying to say is
Pearl Harbor sucked, and I miss you
I need u like Ben Affleck needs acting school
He was terrible in that film
I need u like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part
He’s way better than Ben Affleck
And now all I can think about is your smile
and that shitty movie too
Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you
Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies?
I guess Pearl Harbor sucked
Just a little bit more than I miss you

Oh yeah just now me and William went out onto the balcony/veranda and sang in the direction of the park right outside, really loud...I think it was Phantom or something Then some guy apparently said "WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU DID YOU HIT YOUR HEAD OR SOMETHING ARE YOU CRAZY"
Obviously some people don't have musical genius. :D
Obviously some people don't have musical genius. :D

This is me being perplexed and befuzzled, after some lady in some shoe shop thought that William was taking photos to steal her bosses' designs or something. She even said "hey didn't you come before and take photos" to me...to which I was kinda confused, surprised, offended and like "hahah you stupid lady I don't even live here and I wouldn't want to copy your shoe designs anyway, I have better things to do with my time"
o_O
Okay, the mini-tower system we're planning to get has:
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 ghz, 1mb cache

Anyway today was fun, me and William are planning to buy a "shuttle pc", its really compacted from a tower PC and portable (well more portable than a freakin huge tower)...but apparently the smallest ones dont come with Gameports/15 pin plugs, so we went to one size up. It's an Asus case as well, very nice, it's very flash and will be fast but we deliberately didnt plan for a good video card...or one at all (just the onboard one) so that it can't play games. It's gonna go in our joint room and we'll probalby turn our room into a media centre. Gonna probably buy a 5.1 when we get back to nz and set it up properly
Also walked around quite a bit today, went to various locales like the "cool and fashionable upbeat teenage" place, and the 2-28 Peace Park which was renamed to remember some killing or something on the same date over some stuff. :(
ALSO we went through someone's old photos and :D :D :D hahah the time will reveal all
I just had home cooked gyu-don, it was SO NICE yum yum yum
I'm very happy right now. Very happy.

In case anybody cared, that is/was my university timetable for Semester One 2005:
Everybody, it's all the rage to plan your free day to be Wednesday, so do that. We can all get together and have orgies I mean watch movies.
>.> (oh yeah the longer youtake to enroll, the more classes are gonna fill up and you get less option. i fully had so much choice yesterday. or was it day before...) Race against the machine!

The Day I Nearly Won Lotto
Yesterday at the behest of my grandpa, me and William were bought lotto tickets (because the prize pool had jackpotted ridiculously or something) anyway, we got to pick our own numbers and I almost won. By almost won, it means that out of the six numbers, five of them were one off and the last was two off.
:( So close. ^_^ But so far...
We also went shopping for clothing in an area that wholesales clothing - it was really nice. Went with my aunt and her friend and william, her friend is really cool and I met her last year and a couple of years back too. Anyway I bought a cheapish (they all said it was cheap but the prices here in Taiwan never let me think cheap) coat/jacket thingmie, it wasn't a trenchcoat like I was lookin for but it's still pretty kewl.
Yup. That's about all I can think of, at the moment. I'm having a great time. :D

Phew! I just came back from dinner at a fancy-ish kinda place not far from the apartment block my mum's side of the family lives in...;_; I am really full, ate way too much (hint: never take me to buffets you'll be losing money)...but it was real nice. They had these HUUUGE cups (William took a photo) and the food was good, hotplate stuff we ordered...but man I hadn't eaten so much in...well...ages. Most this year in one sitting probably -_-
Anyway. Today was very eventful, my uncle brought me to lots of places...a random mountaintop village shopping place thing, where I bought an ocarina - it was really foggy/misty/low cloud cover/you walk and its really cool and stuff...and also we went to Taiwan's Gold Museum...did you know Taiwan had gold?! I didn't. I didn't know it was on a fault line either :D I got to touch the world's largest gold block. 220kg. Worth a LOT of money. And heck, the 12.5 bar was hard to lift...;_;
Also something else i wanted to write was about Taiwan's traditional "chewing gum", the betel nut or whatever...it supposedly has an energizing effect much like caffeine etc, originally used by natives of the area (like cocain in North America XD) and also, gives you mouth cancer over prolonged use and has a ridiculously strong staining power, red coloured. ANYWAY at the shops where they sell this chewing gum of sorts, the shops used to have "hot ladies" stand outside to entice potential customers...since they were stupid and didn't understand that placing three in a row was kinda dumb and competitive to a fault. Anyway. They placed these hot ladies and over time they dressed them less and less until eventually they might as well have been naked people with see-through clothing. Then the police stepped in and introduced regulations for these "betel nut girls". XD I saw a couple today. XD XD XD
Only in Taiwan do they advertise Chewing Gum with sex.
I was gonna write a lot more but then I got busy doing university planning stuff. -_- what a nightmare. stupid university.

Hello. According to my watch, it is 7:34 pm. Of course, I have no idea what the ACTUAL time is because I have no idea where I am at the moment - somewhere, very high in the sky, travelling over water, probably. I think it's been four hours since I left Auckland...
I'm actually flying on a codeshare arrangement between Air New Zealand and Eva Air. Eva Air is a decidedly Taiwanese Airline Service - they have announcements in three languages - Taiwanese, Mandarin, and last but not least, Asian English. ^^ While we were going through turbulance, they called it "bumpy air". XD
Anyway, before I left the airport (Mrs Chang was really nice and we talked all the way to the airport and stuff I feel really debted cause it was really impromptu and people are busy things. I'm sure she had better things to do than to ferry me to the airport. Anyway.) I gave Sonny a call - Auckland Airport lets you make free local calls - and it turns out that he was home. Simon was at his house too or had just arrived, I couldn't really hear much over the airport busy din, but yeah. Congratulations to him, he went in to school to pick up his results and he got all As! Well done to you! I'm sorry if you didn't want that publicised, but I think it really deserves all the praise and mention. No way can I beat that result so you don't have any reason now to complain and go "OMGUALWAYS NO STUDY N GET BETR MRK THN ME OMG". :P Anyway just a question if you weren't going to Coromandel why couldn't you send me to airport, Sonny? Just wondering.
^^ I also bought a book. It's quite interesting, I was just randomly browsing the shevles, its a Sci Fi one, the first book of a series called "Consider Phlebas" by Ian M. Banks. I haven't actually read much of it though. I've been busy sleeping/eating airline food.
Speaking of airline food, this is the first meal I had:
--
Wholemeal Bread Bun
Butter
Milk
---
Squid Salad (Squid and Lettuce) (I didn't really like this, the seafoody taste was way too strong and made me feel queasy)
--
Short Grain Rice
Beef Stew
Celery
Carrot
The Stew was really good...
--
Chocolate and raspberry slice
--
And also, they have ACTUAL metal knives with serrated edges! Yay! I'm glad they haven't gone the way of all the rest of the stupid idiots who just end up making their cutlery look stupid and inconveniencing people, etc. I mean, like the Frasian Jean-Yves (or whatever his name is) put it, you could easily just kill someone with a shoelace, so, they should screen for shoelaces too.
Speaking of shoelaces, I'm wearing my new shoes which I bought from Malaysia. They're quite comfortable actually, and they don't have laces for me to worry about. And plus, they're a different colour. I think my feet are sweating hardcore though ;_;
The airline hostesses have a really interesting uniform. They look kinda like Asian Milkmaids, with the overall kinda thing, only green. Not the Blue and White of Dutch Lady. Also, my tissue smelt like pepper from my meal cause it was packed right next to the pepper or something like that.
.
I am listening to Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. I really wish my laptop battery lasted for bazillions of years but, unfortunately, it's gonna run out before this flight reaches Taiwan. I'll have to find some otherway to entertain myself...won't be able to type stuff for y'all.
I'd just like to say hi to: William, Sonny, Rikky, Raymond, Helen, David, Brian and any others who regularly read my mental backwash.
Yup. That's about it, I think. I will probably play Civilisation III now, or attempt to write some music or something. I am glad for headphones and my mp3s to cover the sound of the stupid old man snoring behind me. Okay, he's not old, that would be slandering old people. -_- Okay, sure, I probably snore too but then I'm asleep and I could care less *shock shock*
..okay. Off now.
(that was the blog from the plane)

Ah. Taiwan : land of constant traffic noise, and people beeping their horns either cause they're assholes or they feel like it.
Ah, Taiwan: I bought an external drivebay today, and a 2.5" HDD. 40g. Will store all my mp3s on there. It will be lovely.
Ah, Taiwan. Land of broadband internet!
Ah, Taiwan. Land of the strange fruit that slighly resembles a non-spiky, squishy durian, which tastes like bubble gum and doesn't smell like crap.

Hello. I went to bed at 11 last night (which is really early compared to what I've been doing ;_;) and woke up at 8, but there was at least a good hour in between where I was trying really hard to sleep, but couldn't. I hate that. I blame that for my slight tiredness and headache, although I'm all good to go and stuff...yeah...something about biological clock or something. -_-
Anyway, it's 10:19 now, I packed clothing, and, everything else, should be ready! I'm excited, actually, now that I think about it. Who wouldn't be excited to go to Taiwan! So much shopping, cool relatives, and plus it's winter over there so I get lovely coldness yay.
Ahem. So, yup. I'm getting picked up at 1pm by Andy Chang's mum which is very nice of her. Wicky.
Goodbye New Zealand, thanks for the week, I'll be back for the year. :)

;_; woke up and played Battle for Middle Earth today. Seriously did not expect to spend 8 hours on it -_-
GARRR
But it's good, very good! My favourite battle was the Helm's Deep one, although the scale of unit numbers isn't quite like the movie itself, it was still hella fun to play, and I was losing really badly until the reinforcements arrived :) just like the movie.
its great.
i dont know how im getting to airport tomorrow -_-

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, when we were walkin from Botany to The Hub, these stupid cunts in a crap car drove past and yelled out "what a bunch of queer-bos".
Okay. Degeneration of event:
1) I'm glad you have gaydar.
2) Queer-bo isn't even a word.
3) IF you're gonna insult someone, at least use an actual word so that you don't come off as stupid. Try faggot next time.
4) I hope you feel really cool now that you've rolled down your window, yelled at people you didn't know, and drove off. Really satisfying. I hope that one day, I too will do things to create such levels of satisfaction.
(in other words, go die kthnx)
I have to pack my bags tomorrow ;_; I might screw up -_-

Hello. Today I went to Botany with Sonny (who drove me there in his uncle's car which had a huge cobweb on the right wing-mirror but I digress) and watched Finding Neverland at the new Berkeley Cinemas. The new cinemas are actually a lot better than I expected - the cinema exterior looks nothing really like a cinema, it's a lot more open...Tim works at the Circle lounge bar now...(after he got "laid off" from Foodtown..).,,.and the cinema itself, comfortable seating and a much larger screen than the highland park cinemas.
Cinema verdict: 8/10. Very nice. I dont know about pricing casue David who works there got me a free ticket in but they can certainly charge more than highland park ones...
---Finding Neverland
An absolutely stunning movie. Seriously. Johnny Depp...he's a legendary actor - completely in character, and such a different one from the last one I saw him portray (in Pirates of the Carribean)...and a very moving story. Seriously, once this hits DVD I'm getting a copy. The soundtrack is good too. The oldest kid reminds me of Jacob from the rec centre. The dialogue is well done, and I like things the director has done (eg the implementation of "neverland" and imaginary scenes) - flowed well. Closure at the end of movie was good, very touching.
11/10
---
ok I also after that had burger fuel WOOT burger fuel burgers = love they're really really really really good I had a peanut piston and it was nice. the peanut sauce reminded me of satay, there was actually beef you could distinguish...it was really nice. On the expensive side, but well worth the experience. I was quite hungry too and that really hit the spot.
---
afterwards me and sonny went to PAknsave. mostly I did he just cause he had to drive me home XD I bought cheese sauce packets and pasta snacks for my relatives in Taiwan, I recall how much they liked them from last time. :)
--
yay! ok going now bye (That song, you know, that one about Mr. Brightside...it's a good one.)

Hello, my name is Roger - I am a dog who really likes long walks on the beach unless I get muddy paws which I have to rub all over my leash handler. I bark out of time sometimes, with the music I hear.
becomes:
Today, as for my name it is Roger, - I me must rub the person whom I handle my leash without the く ま, if the foot of the mud is not obtained, it is the dog which likes walking where really the beach is long. I cry from time of the music which I hear, occasionally.
becomes:
Today, because of my name is that Roger, - my me without fail without frictional I of necessity the person who handles my leash? ? If, you cannot obtain the feet of the mud, it is the dog which likes the fact that you make walk to the place where really the beach is long. I shout from at the time of the music which I hear, the time the time.
becomes:
Today, is my the Roger - without the friction I of necessity the person who handles me my leash something which has become so securely because of my name? ? If, it cannot obtain the feet of the mud, those where the fact which in the place where you really the beach are long is made in walking is liked are the dog. I empty time shout at the time of music and the time when I hear.
becomes:
Today, as for me Roger - there is no necessity... frictional I me something which has become so securely because of my leash my name it is the person who is handled? ? If, that cannot obtain the feet of the mud, those are the dog in the place where the fact which by the fact that you walk at the really you can do the beach long place is liked. The scream of time of the sky at the time of I music and the time when I hear.
(and so on :D)

We have eaten so many microwave pies that the microwave just smells like microwaved microwave pies.
The air outside is nice and refreshing but this time I'm indoors letting it soak in through the open window (to my right if you cared)
I can smell my pie. It smells yum. Like curry. Cause it's a curry pie.
There was this one time I had a pie, it said Steak and Cheese BUT IT WAS MINCE
That was a very bad day. The same day, a bird flew over the house and pooped on it.
I am tired but I won't be tired soon. Okay! Waiting for blogger to load hurrah ok bye
---
You see, we get two local newspapers, the Howick and Pakuranga Times, and the Eastern Courier. The times is WAY better than the courier. The "eastern courier" has stooped to such lows that they report some crap about Otara (ahem, south) and the Pacific Events Centre (ahem, south). Just thought I'd mention that since the Eastern Courier is lying in a pile of newspapers to my left on a white plastic chair. This is one of the plastic chairs that William hasn't managed to break yet :P

I awake.
I awake. Will have breakfast soon. The milk I bought yesterday will shore come in handy, bro!
Anyway I've been searching for drivers for the webcam that came with the Dickshitelectronics PC I got years back so that I can use it. USE FOR WHAT you say well I say you know when you get a video camera and you point the feed at itself and it loops for infinity and stuff...
Yeah, I have a craving to see that. (Come on it's not like I have anything better to do at the moment :) )
^_^
First two drivers I found didn't work. Hopefully this one will! (It'd better, it's 7mb)
And oh William, Richard already has Battle for Middle Earth. XD

Hello.
It is 2am. I am online, talking to people. (HA! TAKE THAT PARENTS HA! >.>)
I have written a very silly poem. It doesn't even make sense. It goes:
Condescending fish,
Ignorant ignorami
I watch as you shoot aplomb
towards cold: brrr
Most of the time, I
tell you that Arabia,
I know non.
:)
Sorry I know it sucks. It's early in the morning.
---
And the funny thing is, it might be mid-day, and I might have just lied and changed the post date. Mwhah.

Hello.
Today Sonny came over. Today I accomplished the following:
1) Sofas have been brought in now - the new ones are nice. The colour scheme works and they're really comfortable. I let Zhou Ma Ma and the random uncle who came to help take oranges from our trees. We don't eat them anyway, they just end up rotting on the floor.
2) Walked to Howick.
3) Withdrew $60
4) William, you owe me $20. I deposited it to your account.
5) I bought a prepaid card! Woot. My balance is now $20.03 o_O
6) Went to Foodtown (which has changed location!! I was shocked. Centrepoint (the Howick Rices Mall) has invaded to take over the old Foodtown location, and Foodtown moved to where the 3 Guys store used to be, next to the Buddhist Office's Old Location.
7) Bought: milk, juice, L & P (I missed L&P in Malaysia. I miss Rootbeer now.)
8) Went to Baker's Delight and bought a fruit loaf. Sonny bought a garlic cheese twist thing. That was lunch, it was nice.
9) Sonny started watching Azumanga Dai-oh. HOLY CRAP IT IS SO FUNNY XD XDXD XXD I forced myself to stop watching so I could concentrate on playing my game :P
10) That's about it.
Good day to you.

A house with no sofas seems strangely empty. All of our current sofas have been moved outside by me and Zhou Ma Ma in anticipation for the sofas she are giving us (Which, visitors to the household will be pleased to know, are not yet warped and torn in fabric). I called her today and she came over and we were gonna try and bring the sofas over with the Chariot from her place but they wouldn't fit so she's gonna go hire a van tomorrow or something. Anyway. That will be fun.
I am drinking juice. For dinner, I had a can of baked beans (hey, the label says nature's super food. and plus, nobody's around to smell my farts anyway.)
I still haven't got any real cash on me yet...gotta go to the bank and get out $60 - $20 for William to deposit into his bank account (he'll give some back to me or so he says), $20 for mobile prepay credit (I have 3 cents on my phone remaining. It's quite scary), and $20 for emergency cash.
On the stereo is Yellowcard. They kinda sound exactly the same song to song but this is what the other half of my reward from the Talent Quest at school last year was supposed to be. I like this a lot more than William Hung and Stylus put together, I can tell you that.
Anyway. That is all that is happening so far. I am still panicky about University, and also I have no idea how I'm getting to the airport. I don't exactly wanna call in another favour from Sonny's parents since they've already done so much ;_;
I am sitting outside while typing this. The strange weather predicting device that is unfortunately broken is spinning to my left in the light breeze which is really refreshing, and much like free air-conditioning.
Wireless internet is love magnified.
That is all for now.

"Physicists are an atom's way of thinking about themselves.
Sonny, you left both your Readers Digest and Short Guide to the History of EVerything (or at least I think that's the title, I could be wrong) somehow at my house. I will return them once I finish reading the book >.> Seriously, Rikky was right. This guy is stunning. I think I may buy a copy to give to someone I know. It is a very good book...and it really ties in with all the physics/sciencey stuff I did in Macleans too, without the sleep-inducing factor of Chemical Lal.
Anyway. It's good.
Richard has been home so often, that the shower window has cobwebs from lack of opening. Seriously, that quite surprised me. I called the university cause they're silly and think my admission category is NCEA. it isn't its CIE you foos. Some receoption lady forwarded me to some admissions officer, and she/he was unavailable so I made love to the answer machine instead. The machine, however, couldn't answer anything apart from "when can I leave a message" (response: after the beep) and "what should I say" (response: name, adress, contact phone number)
Hah. Take that.
-_-
They'd better call soon. I will be extremely gutted like an entire fish factory if I don't get in.

Hello.
I am typing this in an airport. My laptop says 3:04 hours remaining battery time. It is now 9:40am. My flight is at 6:55pm. Hmm.
Brunei Airport has signs saying "free wireless internet access!" I have no idea how to get it to work.
Yesterday I spent roughly a day in Sabah. I was very tired so I slept at the hotel most the time but the scenery and waterfront was splendid. The hotel was really good too, four star which is more than enough stars for me. Breakfast was good, the complimentary drink I got upon arrival was very well made and other stuff like that. :)
I will be in NZ tomorrow, although whether you read this today (or yesterday) or tomorrow (or today) depends on if I figure out this wireless internet connection thing.
^_^
WAHOOO I GOT IT TO WORK YAY
(and it seems really fast tooooooo
note to self: the network is APPLounge-01 or something
unfortunately blogger does not seem to want to log in oh well 40k/s is good enough for me :D

Hello I am in New Zealand now. Brunei got very boring very quickly after my laptop ran out of power. I managed to walk around the satellite-styled airport 33 times before I boarded. I pretty much wasted a day there ;_;
But still. When I got here in NZ it was like 12:00 in the afternoon, and Sonny's parents had been waiting since 5:00am cause my parents told Sonny that was when I was arriving ;_; So that was poo...especially since the plane got delayed leaving Brunei as well cause of poo transit passengers (not me, of course, I had hours to get ready -_-) and a "minor electrical fault".
And then I can't go home because:
1) Sonny's parents were nice and decided to give Richard my house keys
2) unfortunately Richard is as reliable as something completely unreliable, so when I arrive home, nobody is there. I end up going to Sonnys, calling Richard on his cell, texting him, calling home (home was engaged cause he's been downloading shit non-stop for ages, according to Sonny's parents who can never call in), then I called my dad who gave me Monica's house and mobile and I called both and none of them answered. So I went to Sonny's family reunion instead (or part of it anyway), feeling very awkward etc but it was nice, nice dinner, etc. for hours. And then finally Monica calls the house I was at (sonny's grandparents house) and then Richard seems surprised that I don't have keys and doesn't seem to notice that HES NOT HOME. something about having dinner, and then wanting to watch some movie. Ahem.
-_-
That was a very long point number two. Basically, I got locked out of the house because somebody is not doing what they should be doing (ahem study)
And also I dont think Sonny's parents knew how, uh, reliable Richard is.
Yum.
I am sleepy. I don't know when this will post because I don't know if the internet is working.
--
Phew. Another day...I woke up, cleaned out some of the absolutely disgusting rotting food in our fridge which Richard has obviously overlooked...fixed up the network again so that I can connect to the internet wirelessly...
Yup. I still dont have my house keys I forgot to ask for them -_-

Hello. My last night in Kuching for a while. Tomorrow I go to some crazy Hotel in Sabah to stop over for a day before heading back towards Auckland.
My dad keeps asking about University. I don't know. I'm not sure I want to know.
Just came back from Japanese Buffet thingie. It's awesome as usual. This time they got us to sign some stuff.
It was good.
I have to sleep, its a morning flight tomorrow.

Hello. Big Singapore writeup (which will probably end up Not As Big because I'll lose motivation half-way through or something.)
Day One
Went to Kuching Airport, travelled to Sinai Airport which is in Johor Bahru, which is West Malaysia territory (westside, yo) - picked up by Taxi, and drove into Singapore. T'was the first time I entered a country through a land route, and it seemed a heck of a lot faster than an airport...probably because you don't have to wait for stupid baggage handling people to throw your stuff onto the slow-spinning carousel...anyway. First impressions of Singapore were great - I hadn't been there in years, and I didn't remember much of it. Singapore is a very very clean country. Seriously. Ridiculously clean. The minute we drove in, it was obvious...no litter anywhere, and the roads weren't crap like they were before the border, within Malaysian land. Anyway. We got dropped off at the Copthorne Orchid, the hotel we were going to stay in and let me say, it is an incredible hotel, with incredibly cool auto-opening doors. We were basically waited hand on foot whenever needed - check-in was fast and easy, the porter was very helpful and everybody was so friendly. In fact, all of Singapore is friendly...more examples to come in the days ahead. The hotel room is groovy and nice. I have photos and videos from the trip but the camera is charging. Anyway, for the first day we took the complimentary coach to Orchard Road (kind of the Queen Street equivalent) and explored the area...t'was huge. Lots of shopping malls and shops and just lots of stuff. I ended up buying some portable speakers I really didn't need.
Singapore infrastructure is built upwards, and downwards too, overpasses and underpasses etc. At night, we went to a food court for dinner and the most bizzare thing happened. We were just minding our own business, I was eating my Thai dinner set (which wasn't very good compared to everything else I had...the bastards wouldn't let me change my drink from Coke to something else...) and Sonny was having Korean food cause he misses it (ye pore olde Sonny). Sonny offered to let me try some and I voiced my concerns about losing tastebuds from spice, when the woman we were sitting down next to said, out of the blue, "It shouldn't be too spicy, it's just chilli paste." We were both (without voicing it) going "wtf" - here we are, eating dinner minding our own business, and the person next to us comments on chilli paste. A friendly gesture I guess but maybe I'm too cynical. Dunno. Anyway, I said "oh ok" and we continued eating...then Sonny put his rice into his spicy soup thing and the same woman said that he shouldn't have done that. (On the inside, I am laughing because Sonny is Korean and more knowledgable in the art of eating Korean food than you, strange lady)...Sonny kept his cool and was polite and stuff. Over and over random talking occurred...and it turns out that this woman is a tour-guide leader/Esplanade helper and she told us how to get to places etc. So it turned from "rude comment about eating" to "helpful tour guide lady". At this stage it hadn't turned to "strange stalkerish behaviour" yet...I did make the mistake of giving her our room number at the hotel though ;_; Anyway. We said thank you, and retired to the coach pickup point and went back to the hotel, armed with information on how to...basically get to where we want.
At like 11pm when we were both sleeping, she calls the room ;_; with good intentions I guess, telling us about a concert she forgot to mention. And then after saying thanks for the info etc I hang up, and try to get to sleep again. About 10 minutes later, another call. ;_;
Day Two
The plan was to go to Chinatown, then move on to Sentosa (Singapore's most famous tourist attraction, an island resort. Wait, isn't Singapore an island? Hmm.) Chinatown was actually populated with Chinese people (go figure) and the streets had a distinct Chinese flavour to them, having a predominantly red colour scheme (red is a lucky colour in Asian cultures, I think) Sonny bought some things for his cousin sisters and I just looked around and stuff.
Then, to Sentosa! We took the MRT to HarbourFront station (Harbour Front is the "suburb" that is closest to Sentosa) and walked around to find the Cable Car station to Sentosa. Cable Cars are kind of freaky...the only thing between you and a really, really long drop are two cables and a couple of spinning wheels. Comforting. But it gave a great view and was relatively fast I guess. Sentosa itself, was great! The beaches looked SO NICE I am really gonna go back there in the future sometime. So sandy, palm trees, nice view, aaaaaahhh (reminded me of something out of Costa de Sol (ahem ahem sorry for that)) and there was a cool Bird Show with smart Macaus or something...and a huge Merlion sculpture. We also visited the Underwater World which was pretty much like Kelly Tarltons, I think...and then, Dolphin Lagoon, where there were pink dolphins doing stuff like leaps and swimming. >.> It could have been better with an announcer/MC that didn't suck, and if there weren't arseholes who enjoyed standing up at inopportune moments so that we couldn't see. Fuckers.
Anyway. Then, we went to the Musical Fountain...now, I remember I went to this last time I was in Singapore, but that was about it. IT WAS SO COOL IT WAS SO COOL there was fountains...and lasers....and big fire jets! Totally wicked. The fire was real too - you could actually feel the heatwave.
Then we got the cable car back, and went back to the hotel. I'm not sure if we had Ed's Fish this time or not. (Ed's Fish turned out to be our favourite food stall in the food court where we found Strange Tourguide Lady - fast fish, that tasted great and the meals were cheap compared to everything else.)
Day Three
This plan for today was Mustafa Centre/Little India, Sim Lim, then Singapore Zoo/Night Safari. Took the MRT there...Mustafa Centre...how to describe it? Take a supermarket...give it three stories...and make it HUMUNGOUS and open 24 hours. It was huge. seriously, we got lost inside it many times. There was everything on sale imaginable - I found the portable speakers I bought for cheaper here (and immediately got annoyed at myself ;_;), bags, socks, spices, groceries, sofas, whatever - seriously, there was tons of stuff). Then we went to Sim Lim ( we didn't actually really walk through Little India but it seemed really boring and not as cool as Chinatown. Except that unlike Little India here in Kuching, it really IS populated by Indians. Kuching's one has Chinese people still.) Sim Lim was an electronics centre - very big too...at first we went into the Sim Lim Tower which was boring and my mistake, filled with base electronic components like leds and wires etc. Not the consumer end. We moved on to Sim Lim Square, which was very big - proof was the people who stand at the end of escalators and progressively try to hand you leaflets and shit. Sonny bought his Bluetooh thingmie here.
From Sim Lim, we took the MRT to Ang Mo Kio and took the bus to the zoo. The bus is nowhere near as cool as the MRT (MRT = magnetic rail train or something) but it did its job fine and we arrived at the zoo safely. We got into the zoo...and then it rained which sucked. Singapore Zoo is so much better than Auckland zoo. White tiger, polar bears, leopards, gazelles, monkeys etc they were all here. They had TONS of kangaroos too, for some bizarre reason. I hadn't really observed Kangaroos properly. Maybe these ones were mutants or something but they looked kinda small...and reminded me of rats on drugs/springs. And also, there was a walk-through rainforest trail, where this really cute monkey fully just walked up to the railing next to me and sat there for ages. It was so cute. Except if you tried hard enough you could probably find it revolting. Anyway. The day zoo was cool...but it was rainy and poo and Sonny's shoes suck (and he couldn't buy new ones because apparently nobody sells size 46/10 shoes in Malaysia/Singapore...45 is okay, just not 46. Also, a lot of people tell Sonny he is very tall. It is funny.) We ended up hiding out in the KFC outside the two zoos where we had a light meal (for the days of our trip we ate more during breakfast and had light dinners to save money out of lunch. I ended up having money left over anyway but still, it was more economical) and learned the names of the counter people. I got Ryan Oh to change my 2 dollar note to two one dollar coins for the bus, cause buses like exact change. By like, I mean need. By need, I mean if you don't pay exact change the bus fairy comes and gives you hereditary baldness or something. ANYWAY. The night zoo was extremely kewl - the atmosphere was awesome, cause it was night and there was low lighting and it looked really cool. And there were really cool night jungle noises that could be really freaky if you were all alone...trapped there...anyway. The noise even seemed to make chords at times. Very evil dissonant ones. It was very cool.
We saw a fishing cat. They are cool and cute. They sit there, waiting at the waters edge...and we saw one catch a fish. It was very, very fast. Swipe, then fish=dead. Also, we watched the Creatures of the Night show which was very nice and entertaining. At the end however, tons of people left the pieces of paper and maps (that they placed down on the seats wet from rain during the daytime to prevent their arse from being any more disgusting than it already is) behind and we were nice and helped the cleany guy out.
Then we went home. There was an incredible run at the end of the journey back to the hotel...which wouldn't have happened if:
- We didn't go the wrong way from the MRT, which made us
- Miss a train and lose about 7 minutes
- and then head out the wrong exit at the Orchard Road stop near where the coach stop was
- which meant that we had to wait for two poo crossing traffic lights.
But all four happened. We ended up running like crazy after the traffic lights, and we made it onto the Coach Bus at 9:59...it was scheduled to leave for the hotel at 10:00. The most annoying thing was that at 10:03, it was still pretty much stuck at the stop, and some indian people just waltzed up to the coach and the coach driver let them on. ;_;
Day Four
Happy birthday sonny. Today's plan was the Esplanade + surrounding area.
First off we stopped at the City Hall MRT station, and saw St. Andrews Cathedral. Nice white structure. Didn't go in because it was Sunday and full of service people etc. Then, we went to Funan, another "it-mall" place. It wasn't terribly interesting actually...more of the same old oooh look IT stuff. To Sonny's pleasure the Bluetooth thingmies were more expensive here (then again this area is a more upmarkety area). Then we went and explored some shops in the area, I bought the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack...(which is incredible and I am listening to it right now)...then we headed off to the Esplanade. The Esplanade is like the Art Centre of Singapore, the design of the buildings were pretty funkay. Went inside, there was a really awesome Arts Library...with Practice Room, CD library, scores, magazines, wahtever. It was very cool. Then we went to the concert hall to listen to a free, uh, Harp Concert. The group harp playing wasn't terribly good since they didn't manage to ever play completely in time (and the long decay time of the hall + natural sound of the harp just emphasised their out of time-ness) But! The little nine year old kid who came third in some Harp Competition in Japan played a REALLY AEWSOME jazzy harp song. It rocked. That was worth waiting through the rest of the crap (especially the singing. Urgh.) The concert hall itself was a pretty nice structure. Didn't look at all like the exterior (which the locals call the Durian cause it's spiky. Luckily, doesn't smell nearly as offending) Then we walked around and stuff...went to see the Merlion at Merlion park...saw the City Hall, the old parliament house that now contained some Artwork and old movie posters...etc Then we went back to the main Esplanade area for an outdoor concert which was free. Not a very large one, mind you, but it was free. A local band called Tiramisu was playing..they were good. The lead singer was really funny and crazy. By crazy I mean he moves like crazy while not singing. It's really bizzare. But even more bizzare was the old man who stood up and started dancing during one of their songs. It was ridiculously funny...Sonny videoed it on his camera. XD
So the show was over...(strange tourguide lady was there too but I don't really wanna mention her cause you'll all think she's a stalker but we did go to this concert after she told us about it so >.>) anyway we went back to Orchard Road and got some stuff for a mini party back in the hotel room. Got him a little mini blueberry cake (which was delicious. but not at all secret. -_-), he got drinks, I got food (eds fish, yum) and he got the side dish (Japanese Tempura). It was good food. Sonny does not like Beer.
Day Five
Nothing much happened this day. I bought a whole lot of other music cds cause my mum said "whatever money you dont spend you have to return" so I decided I like music. Hard Rock cafe is nowhere near interesting (well not the one in Singapore anyway). It sucked. I was thoroughly disappointed. etc. Random person on the street gave us directions to Borders. Singapore people are too friendly. I took along the remaining beer can from last night and placed it on posts at pedestrian crossings...nobody picked up the beer while we watched. We got bored of it and when we returned to the crossing an hour later it was gone. But while we watch, it was honest.
Anyway. I'm lazy now, not much else happened or so I say. I may post photos sometime. Maybe. Videos, maybe. Bye.
Also, Singapore has trains. Auckland really needs trains as cool as Singapore. Auckland you suck in train-ness.
Bye.
At like 11pm when we were both sleeping, she calls the room ;_; with good intentions I guess, telling us about a concert she forgot to mention. And then after saying thanks for the info etc I hang up, and try to get to sleep again. About 10 minutes later, another call. ;_;
Day Two
The plan was to go to Chinatown, then move on to Sentosa (Singapore's most famous tourist attraction, an island resort.
But all four happened. We ended up running like crazy after the traffic lights, and we made it onto the Coach Bus at 9:59...it was scheduled to leave for the hotel at 10:00. The most annoying thing was that at 10:03, it was still pretty much stuck at the stop, and some indian people just waltzed up to the coach and the coach driver let them on. ;_;
I have wondered the following:
- Why do people in fast food restaurants yell out orders? I mean, it's not like they're very far away from the people making the food o_O
...I had a lot more I wondered about but I forgot completely about it. Yes. I recently discovered my laptop has an infra-red port! So I am shoving mp3s onto Sonny's mobile. >.>

How to be an asshole:
- Hate the following groups completely:
o Japanese
o Muslims
o Americans
o Communists
- Be hypocritical...want the Muslims to modernise, but praise the excellence of the traditional Chinese customs or some shit like that.
- Be unable to pronounce words such as:
o Yacht
o Blue
o Throat
o Favourite
- Assume you are ALWAYS correct.
- Be able to mass produce fake statistics and cite them with great certainty (maybe the deal is that the more you bullshit the more likely at least a bit of your bullshit turns to gold) - I mean, who knew that there were 17.5% Bidayuh or whatever in Malaysia...
---
How to be my dad: do all of the above.
---
Respect and all, but sometimes it's just like oh damn.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Okay. I was gonna blog a lot but then now that it comes to it I forgot most of what I was thinking about - figures. ^^"
1. Visited a crocodile farm today. Sonny took videos with his funky new cellphone, Sony Ericsson K700i. Tres good phone.
2. Sonny went to buy shoes. His feet are too big (or the shoes, too small?) I ended up getting a pair. My mum says "you need shoes! YOU GO TO UNI NEXT YEAR!!!" and I'm like oh okay. But how can you be so sure I'm getting into uni ;_;
3. I remember the incident now, at KL airport a couple weeks back. Being extremely bored, everybody was waiting in the boarding room for the plane back to Kuching, right...and we were sitting there, like everyone else. There was about 10 minutes left to boarding, and I was feeling very bored. So i asked William sonny richard etc "hey do you think if i start queueing up now, everybody will follow me?" and since I had nothing better to do, we all went together. And can you believe it, I made the entire population of that room start queueing up! XD It was a hilarious sight...I couldn't stop laughing...we stood there for about five minutes. Tee hee. Stupid Asian people fearing bad seats, or something.
3a. I now remember that when we were on the plane, some asshole tried to "reserve" a seat. I took the piss out of him for the entire journey, reserving my air sickness bag and cup of juice, among other things.
4. Back into chronological (kinda) order...yesterday went to the Frasians again for new years. it was good. met random people, some guy called Nick from Australia who I will most likely never ever see again...Fabian reminds me of Maian...if only I had a photo. I COULD SHOW YOU food was nice there was karaoke which was fun I think, my mum dancing which was funny, fireworks, music...it was good. Didn't feel as awkward as during Christmas.
5. It rained quite heavily today. Rain rain rain rain rain. I actually quite like rain, it's nice and refreshing or something. I would dance naked in the rain, really, if the sight wouldn't be counted as a weapon of mass destruction. >.>
Anyway, hapy ney yers once again, for this comiung year good luck to you etc. :D

Hello. I haven't blogged in a while. You may pick a lame excuse from the list:
1) I have decided Rikky is my hero and I will attempt to only blog at intervals such as monthly.
2) I got attacked by my dog and just came back from the hospital.
3) Malaysian internet service providers are crap.
4) I nearly died in the Tsunami and needed some time to contemplate life.
5) I have no hands.
---
Anyway, speaking of Tsunami, I'm okay, so is Sonny, thanks for you lovely people emailin us to make sure we are okay. <3 The following things have happened so far:
1.
One of the days I woke up and had breakfast. It was nice! Cereal. Something you don't expect in a country with produces as much fresh milk as the human bladder can contain in a day (2 cups, thank you Cranium) ANYWYA the point I wanna make is that I found it slightly ironic that I fly all the way to Malaysia to eat cereal with milk imported from New Zealand.
2.
Fed my dog. And the other three. I can't help but be biased, I mean, come on, Red's my dog. And plus. He's cool, he has cool ears. And he's the largest. And plus. He's cool. Don't gimme that equality crap ;_;
3.
My dad has disagreed to me trying to ship the Drum Kit over. I still feel the pang of guilt at letting the drum kit sit in the clinic and rot, but at least I asked. I didn't really pay for the drum kit...I did try to tell my dad it would be put to much better use overseas but...if he wants to leave an investment collecting dust in an obscure room in his clinic, that's not my decision/problem.
3a.
I have noticed how my parents don't seem to understand why I don't really feel like playing the drums when it's here. I try to explain but somehow the concept is perhaps...too foreign. I play the drums _in a band_. That is, with other people. It's sociable! You get the awesome feeling that together you are doing something, you are creating something that is uniquely yours. It's awesome. And thats why I wanna stay in the band, and I can't really be of any use without a drum kit. El comprende. Performing music as a group just doesn't come close to playing in a dusty room by yourself. And plus, just drums? Doesn't really work well unless you're an expert and I'm no expert.
4.
Sonny says I hit my keyboard too hard when I type. I say that is how I type.
5.
Me and Sonny are going to Singapore! Even more unique is that he's gonna spend his 18th there! I doubt he will visit a pub or anything though, much less get drunk. But still! I have to secretly buy a cake. >.>
6.
My Term Deposit(s) in Malaysia reached maturity a couple of days ago - I had two, one of $1000 and another of $3000...I took all the money out and had all this cash, it was awesome :D Tee hee I love notes. But, the interest is disappointing. It was a term deposit. 3.7%. Now, allow me to point out that as far as I know, that's pretty lousy for a term deposit in New Zealand. Heck, some saving accounts give you like 5, don't they? ;_; oh well. It's Malaysia, what can you do.
7.
I am still worried about University. ;_; Will I really get in ;_; ;_; Sonny tells me not to worry but I can't help it, what if I completely bombed out in my exams and didn't realise it? My dad gave me a present for entering University. A bit premature, I think. I won't open it until I know I've got in...;_;
8.
I'm going to Taiwan!
9.
New Year is coming up soon. I won't live to see another palindromic year though!
10.
Dan Brown is a great author - Angels and Demons was an enthralling read, I really couldn't put it down. One of the reasons why I'm so tired cause I stayed up last couple of nights trying to read more and more of it.
11.
Hello Simon's Travelling Troupe, hope you enjoyed/are enjoying your time in Taupo.

Mkay that's about all I can remember, or at least all the interesting things I remember anyway. This blog would get crap fast if every day I posted stuff like "I woke up, walked 10 steps, turned left, down stairs, etc."
Keep safe everyone.

Yesterday went to the Frasians.
Was mildly enjoyable. Dunno, they were nice people but I don't really know them and it's probably mostly my fault cause I don't live here and I didn't really make an attempt to talk to people or anything. (Curse you, Mr. Unsociable!) There was nice cake though, and rice in pitcher plants.
--
Afterwards, we played a board game called Cranium - best board game I've played in ages. Me and Sonny won...and we would like to thank Rikky for indirectly helping us win the last question and thus the game. Were it not for the knowledge that Video Killed the Radio Star was the first ever video to be played on MTV which he told us when we were gearing up to perform that very same song for a Batten House assembly...we wouldn't have won what my brother deemed as "hahah you'll never get this one!"
Tee hee. Thanks Rikky.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
For Christmas this year I recieved:
+ A Black T-shirt which says "Addicted" on it, and looks like a rip off of Adidas (tee hee)
+ A FFVIII Gunblade Keychain (which is uber cool but I don't think I can carry it with me on the plane...;_; damn customs, it might have to go in cargo lest I get busted like William)
+ A FFVIII pocket watch (yup like the old school people in those days had, you know, you take it out, look at the time, and put it away...now I just need those glasses that go on one eye....)
+ A Night Before Christmas Jigsaw Puzzle (tee hee)
THANKS EVERYBODY I HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A GREAT CHRISTMAS
tonight I think we are going to see the Frasians (the French Asians). Yup. I hardly know them. But HEY thats the fun but, if I do stupid things it doesn't matter cause I don't even live here anyway.

What Did I Do Today
Today, I woke up at 9.00. I'm feelin a bit under-the-weather due to sleep deprivation etc.
Points to note:
+ Burnout 3 is very nice. Simon, you were right in recommending a game of such entertainment. Mwahahhahahaha! MWHAHAHAHAH!
+ Sonny tried his first "rambutan" today. It's a really...tropical fruit, which I've never seen sold in New Zealand, ever. It's either red or yellow when ripe and is kinda hairy - the name itself means "hairy fruit" I think. It is kinda like lychee, except it looks way cooler.
+ I am online! Hello everybody.
+ I am very tired.
+ Sonny Richard and my sister went off to one of Richard's friend's house to see a pet crocodile or something. The only thing I vaguely recall about that house is a large winding black steel spiral staircase...and I could be wrong.
Okay! That's about all I did today. Oh yeah I had lunch too. It was food. Yum.

Hello.
Parents are in Perth celebrating wedding anniversary. Visited a few shows etc.
I feel the laziness of blogging coming on - I only really blog when I'm bored and I'm far from bored, done a lot of stuff...PS2 games bought, movies to be watched, shows to attend...
etc.
So unless someone asks a question, expect a lot of posts like this that just confirm that I'm still alive >.>

Hello there. I haven't blogged in a couple of days because I've been in Kuala Lumpur, which is the capital of Malaysia - apart from the airport, I had never really been in KL before. It is so much better than my hometown ;_; (it's like the difference between Auckland and Arrowtown...)
I was gonna make a big blog post, but I'm lazy and tired and we're about to all watch dodgeball. So, random points:
1) Shaolin Kung-fu demonstration. Y'know hero? The sword-fighting stuff? It's possible to do most of it in real life. I saw it! I saw it I did, real life! Spear = <3 mmmm at the same stadium where we watched that there was also a TRUE lion dance (which is, i hate to say, on a much much much higher level than anything Macleans could pull off in the forseeable future), and a 24 drum troupe. Hurray for drumming and triplets!
2) KL has trains and monorail. Auckland should too. If MALAYSIA can have rail, Auckland should have no problem.
3) Sonny likes the street food here :D
4) I bought some dvds, a really cool jigsaw puzzle imported from Japan, and some other stuff...like some arts and crafsts stuff.
Yup. Also visited the tallest Twin Buildings in the world, and stuff.
T'was good.
OH and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra is way better than I'd ever imagine...NZSO standard, if not higher...and I bought some traditional Malay formal wear for that concert :D
I've cut my hair now, because my brother and mum keep nagging on how "if you wanna have long hair you gotta take care of it properly etcetc brush comb style brush brush tidy"...and my dad said really unsubtly "cut it, you". so i figure, if i leave it long im being selfish. so i cut it. it's spiked at the moment, i got some styling poo as well...it's...different. Check my brother's blog for some photos, and I might find a photo of my new hair, sometime. :P
Well. thats about it. duinno what else to say, other than hello everybody hope you're all having fun, cause I know I am!
peace

Phew. It's...uh....5:11 am NZ time, and I'm finally in Malaysia. ;_;
That was a very long and exhausting trip, considering it started at 11ish in the morning. During the trip, I scribbled down notes onto an Airline Sick bag nicely provided by Brunei Airlines. As they are just that, scribbled, they aren't really in any particular order so I'm just gonna go through them point by point.
1) Professionally faded pants that look like you shit your pants. -- Okay. I don't understand why this crap is even fashionable, since it really DOES look like you shit your pants. Well it did anyway on this woman walking around in Kota Kinabalu Airport which is a really crappy airport but I'm sure I cover that on another point. This point basically wants to say that professionally faded pants are stupid looking.
2) KK fuckin worst airport ever. Shitty staff (apart from 1 nice lady) -- The one nice lady was the one that actually offered a smile, not an annoying glare because we interrupted your lazy ass sitting there talking, you cunts. After getting off the plane from Brunei in Kota Kinabalu, we were highly annoyed to find that there was basically no staff around...and it was only 7pm. ;_; The transit counter was closed, and when we tried to ask a customs officer what to do, he didn't really know. (Bring the standard up guys, you work in the fucking place, if you don't know who does?!) Anyway. We went and picked up our baggage since we didn't know if the lady in Auckland doing the checking-in stuff managed to get our stuff automatically transferred to Kuching...and found 1 out of 4 pieces. Apparently, the other three were in the process of being transferred, so it was lucky that we went to check otherwise my mum wouldn't have her lovely blue rucksack containing wine or whatever ridiculous thing she wanted to export from NZ ^_^ The airport really annoyed me.
3) Brunei Airlines, Boeing 767 - we took one from Auckland to Brisbane, and Brisbane to Brunei. If you thought Singapore Airlines had a cool inflight entertainment thing, Brunei Airlines had the potential to completely kick their ass in that aspect - the screens were higher resolutions, you can actually CHOOSE what movie you want to watch, WHEN you want to watch it, and there is even chapters and auto-resuming functions so you can continue where you left off and music libraries to browse etc. The controller was compact, easy to use, and had a really cool directional pad thingy, reminiscent of the analog sticks of Playstation controllers. The only problem was my controller didn't work. I managed to somehow watch half of I, Robot, before it crapped out on me and I gave up. (I, Robot is a good movie by the way, I wouldn't have expected something good from Will Smith as of late but hey it's good to be wrong sometimes.)
4) On the flight from Auckland to Brisbane, there was a strange...Polynesian? Lady sitting across the aisle to my left, and she offered me sweets. Totally disregarding all common lore and precautions, I accepted the candy from the stranger. It was nice. Chewy and sweet. I don't think I got raped though, so it's all good!
5) The same Polynesian woman went out of her way to try to return William's "hot towel" (which name becomes quite a misnomer after about 5 or so seconds in the harsh cabin atmospheric conditions). It was quite funny actually because if I recall correctly another passenger also rose to the call of duty and duly informed William that an air hostess was going around on the other side to pick them up too. o_O
6) On the flight from Brisbane to Brunei, there was a guy sitting where the strange Polynesian lady was, and he had a shitload of what I presume was Scotch or some other alcoholic drink with him. He was listening to Bee-Gees REALLY loudly (I could hear it at a respectable volume from where I was sitting, even over the enormous din of aircraft-background-noisage) and kept giving me really weird stalker-type looks. Apart from the fact that he's old, obnoxious and had a darkish red kinda maroony shirt, I don't remember much else....hrm. He was also sitting next to a really really huge fat guy...who complained that the seats were too small. This leads to the question: is the seat too small, or are you too big? (ponder. why should society bend backwards to accomodate this one fat person?)
7) On the flight from Auckland to Brisbane, this Maori teen (I assume he's Maori but I could be wrong) kept poking me and asking me for help with Brisbane arrival forms, as if he had somehow procured that I had a huge wealth of information just waiting to be tapped. Questions he asked were:
- Do I need to fill all this out? (A resounding yes is the answer. If you read the other side of the thingmie it clearly says so.)
- What's this thing here, what do I write here? (ans: put your job (the thing said occupation, obviously a word he wasn't familiar with)) reply: what if you don't have a job ans: then put unemployed or something
- What's the time?
- Do I need to fill all this bit too? (Yes)
A passing Air Hostess also got asked whether he really needed to fill all that bit out. She said yes.
8) Bahahh okay my brother brough back his models and Lord of the Rings Warhammery stuff right...and you won't believe the lengths security will go to! Within that bag of his was a modelling toolkit which he had gotten as one of the free gift things. The Auckland Airport security staff took him away to a corner and told him what was wrong and stuff. XD Apparently, the stanley knife was bad. So they took it off him (fair call) and they also checked the paint to check if it was flammable but it was water based so it got the big O-K. The Auckland guys were nice enough to leave William with a blunt file and pliers with his tool kit.
Fast forward to Brisbane customs. He gets pulled aside AGAIN and gets the file and pliers taken off him XD
hahahah
Sorry. I'm just imagining a huge warehouse of pliers and other assorted harmless tools confiscated from poor unsuspecting travellers which my brother had just joined the ranks of. Damn you terrorists, taking away our freedoms and shit. I mean, I haven't heard of people killing people with files, to be honest. Who is stupid enough to wait around to get filed to death, anyway? Don't get me started on pliers. What are you gonna do, pluck their eyebrows? And modelling paint bombs? Now it's just bordering on crazy :P Stupid customs. I hope you feel that your collective penises are bigger now that you have the power to deprive people of modelling tools.
9) In Brunei airport William bought two chicken sandwiches. They were actually surprisingly yum, considering they didn't look at all fresh and we were serviced by surly Islamic women who looked like they didn't give a toss if you choked on your sandwich...you can tell it's Asian. Asian white bread just has that texture and softness to it, which New Zealand bread doesn't. It isn't better, or worse. It just is.
10) Airlines too are doing their bit to prevent death from stupid tools! I was highly amused to find in my cultery set, stainless steel spoon/teaspoon/fork BUT a very pretty (yet flimsy) blue knife. If you're gonna trade out stuff for lame plastic imitations, why didn't you do the fork too? A fork is like...FOUR knives. Kinda. Pressure = force x area etc. Stilletos. Thats why people with pussy floors don't like people wearing high heels.
11) My broken controller was actually a source of much amusement, not through the airline inflight entertainment system but through the lovely web of airhostessing. Some time during the flight I mashed the "callforhelp" button tons of times. Nobody came so I assumed that it wasn't working. Air hostess goes by with juice, no mention of me being in airhostessdistressneedofattention. Another juice run. Meal. Juice run. And then all of a sudden they start running in, one after another. They come up to me, ask me "is everything okay sir" and me, being engrossed in my book, nodding and smiling, send them off. Then they press the "Cancel call" button and walk off.
A few minutes later a different air hostess comes up, cycle repeats. About four times. Tee hee. That'll learn you bastards to not fix my controller.
12) In Auckland Airport fearing boredom on the long long long trip ahead of me I bought four books, a Dan Brown box set or something. Mainly because it had the book "Da Vinci Code" in the set which I wanted to read as it gets high acclaim from Ellen (*sigh* okay and Ming :P). It was a very good read, I am serious, although with genres/books like these it's hard to tell whether they really mean what they write or they're trying to blur the lines, whether its fact, fiction, some quasi-truth, or something else entirely. Da Vinci Code shares a lot of similarities with National Treasure, actually. Both involve Disney. The only thing against the book I have though, is that they claim the secret word in The Lion King is sex. It isn't. I've seen the freeze frame. I believe it says SFX.
Apart from that, it's a good book.
I'm really tired.
It's late. It's..quarter to six, NZ time. But only (ahha, only) 12:43 am here in Malaysia.
Hopefully from all those points you can put them in a semi-chronological order and understand what kind of bizzare trip I had to make to get back to Malaysia, or whatever.
Maybe someone can entertain me and try to put the points in chronological order.
(sonny you wanted me to call you when I get there but I can't afford it. read an email or something tomorrow morning instead :P)
---
That was what I meant to post up yesterday but didn't get around to because I didn't have the internet set up on my laptop.
---
There are four types of cars in Malaysia. I may have mentioned this before, but oh well.
-Trucks
-Normal Cars (like the Proton Saga/Wira)
-Ugly Rectangular Cars (Kancil)
-Big offroad SUVs not being used offroad (eg Pajero)
There is absoultely no variety apart from this.
Been playing a lot. Can't seem to sleep past about 7.00 am here, which is annoying because I end up being really tired. In "The Sims 2", my energy bar would be low. >.>
Yes, I have been playing that. It is very good. Can't really make a comparison to the first one because I don't remember it.
Then there's "Phantom Brave" sequel to Disgaea. Very good. Training is poo and annoying though. However, Phatom Brave has been pushed aside by a game that could well challenge Guitaroo Man as the most enjoyable strange Japanese game...joining the ranks of Bishi Bashi is the PS2 game called "Katamari Damacy".
The object of the game is to roll up everything you see into a giant ball.
Yes. That sounds boring and bizarre....UNTIL YOU PLAY IT!
It's great.
Oh yeah I also played Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires, but once I finished it there wasn't really an incentive to do it again. And Samurai Warriors gave me a very bad first impression. Controls are laggy, people look really weird and stretched out and...basically, not as fun or fluid as the Dynasty Warriors series.
Yup.

The skies outside are dark and ominous. I sneezed about ten times upon awakening, each consecutive outburst being progressively worse than the one before it. And when I close my eyes I keep seeing some random figure at a window.
o_O
Is this empathic fallacy? ...isn't that the weather thing reflecting the world or some shit?
o_OO_O_O_O_O_O_O_O
I LEAVE IN 1.5 HOURS OKKKKK
1.5 HOURS
1.5 HOURS
....I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Mostly I think I'm just tired. *shakes fist at Rikky* dang you all yoru fault

Mowed the lawn today.
Off to buy rikky a present some time today.
My time here in NZ this year is almost up. Even though, everybody's been lazy (ie i havent organized much, neither has anyone i know of....or they dont invite me >.>)...its still been nice being here.
I had a weird dream, in which I had to walk down a very dark corridor and people threw things at me and said nasty things.
Interpretations would be very welcome and an interesting read :)

o_O the Asian guy from linkin park looks like a big loser.
so does the guitarist trying to look like a hobo.
I come to this conclusion after watchin some C4 and seeing some MTV Mash Ups between Linkin Park vs Jay-Z or something. Jay Z seems like a nice rapper. You know, like he isn't about to eat your kids or something.
under five minutes now. ive been waiting for hours.

On a sidenote, is it illegal to break into your own home?
I do it all the time, due to my forgetfullness in bringing my wallet out with me. Maybe I should staple my wallet to my face or something.
Anyway. Broke in again, two seconds ago.
...
The 7th Form Leavers DVD thing. Haven't taken a look at it but if it's what was played at grad dinner, then I'm annoyed. It's a really one-sided view of Macleans, really. You have to be in the "cool managerian TKish", it seems, to be a major part of it. Either that or you have to be able to make a seagull noise.
What about the Amphitheatre, with all the random Asian Mafia people? Why didn't yer put that in to the DVD? Why were most of the interviews done outside TK? Surely there's a lot more to the school than just TK. >.>
Maybe I'm seeing this from clouded eyes. Maybe.

I have recently recieved my testimonial in the mail. Just because I have nothing better to do before work today, I will type it out.
TESTIMONIAL
Henry Chong
GENERAL COMMENTS
It is a genuine pleasure to write about Henry Chong, a top academic student (bahah yeah right) who has achieved commendable marks in his multi-level approach to his studies. He gained an A and B for School Certificate in Year 10 (Year 10 mwahha) and has been awarded numerous prizes and awards for his academic ability during his five years at Macleans College. He clearly has the potential to do well at tertiary level.
Henry is a talented and conscientious student. He is intelligent and his thoughts and interpretations of literature are often diverse and lateral. He has an expansive vocabulary and excellent oral skills. Henry is a confident public speaker. He is capable of deep thought. He is well organised, motivated and serious about doing well. Henry is also committed to helping his peers. He has set up websites for the class. (Wow, they say one good deed deserves another but this one has been mentioned to death :P Did it help anyone, really? I'm sincerely glad if it did.) He shows tremendous initiative.
Henry has a high level of involvement in a wide range of activities and has managed to balace his academic requirements with other demands. Henry is heavily involved in music and has been a member of the Senior Orchestra for four years. He is also in the Chamber Orchestra, String Quartet and Rockquest. In all of these, he has been reliable and punctual. Henry has an excellent rapport with both his peers and adults. He has good organisational skills and leadership potential. He shows good initiative and takes a lead in a positive way.
We thank Henry for his considerable contributions to the school over the years. Henry is a fine young person. He has a warm and open nature and has a ready sense of humour. He is a selfless student and is encouraging and sensitive. Henry is always well mannered and well grommed. He is thoroughly honest, loyal and with much to contribute. He leaves with our highest recommendation and best wishes for the future.

There. That's my testimonial, if anybody cared. It also came with a really scungy 7th Form DVD which I will complain about some other time. Leaving for work sometime around now.
Also, I have begun watching Rahxephon, an anime that has been sitting around for ages which I haven't started watching even though I bought it last year and I must say it's excellent from what I have seen.
Running now.
Dear readers, don't die. Yet. :)
